Hurricane season is upon us. It is very important to have a plan in place beforehand. Hurricanes are very unpredictable and can cause severe storm damage to your home and property. If you live in an area that is prone to flooding, you may want to consider evacuating. 

If you evacuate, try to plan how long you will be gone and where you will go. If you have pets, make sure you bring them with you - if you feel unsafe staying in your home it is certainly not safe for them to stay. 

Bring all important documents and valuables, and make sure your home is properly secured before you leave.

Keep yourself up to date on any hurricane related weather activity and do not underestimate the power of a hurricane - it is better to over-prepare than be in an emergency situation.
