Mold on Toe Kick and Baseboard
The photos featured show what happens when baseboard and toe kicks are not removed following a category 3 flood. The porous materials were affected by grossly contaminated water during hurricane Irma.
Once baseboard and toe kicks become contaminated from cat 3 flooding, they should be removed immediately to avoid further damage spreading throughout the home.
Failure to remove contaminated materials can lead to extensive and dangerous mold growth throughout the entire building. This property was in foreclosure and consequently the materials remained in the home during an approval for funding process.
The longer you wait to remove affected materials, the more expensive the process becomes!
